A 64-bit engine mod for The Sims 3.
OpenTS3 is led by JJ, with eight other C# developers on the team. Together, we’re bringing The Sims 3 to a new 64-bit engine using your installed game’s content and original gameplay code. Vulkan and .NET 10 are in place; we’re now focused on performance, polish and broad playtesting.
There’s no public download yet. Playtesting information →
What we’re working on
OpenTS3 is being played as The Sims 3 in 64-bit. Cars, stairs, relationships, birth, aging and death are working in developer playtests, along with most Build/Buy tools and substantial Pets, Seasons and Late Night gameplay. We’re beyond Sunset Valley now, with Riverview, Appaloosa Plains and Bridgeport in testing. The focus is performance, optimization, shaders, audio and checking the many details that still need polish.

Development notes
Road to release →Create a Sim & households
Households and pets can be created and moved in in tested cases. Pet coats, portraits and saved rigs have received further fixes.
Build mode
Most of the original Build/Buy toolset works. Remaining tools, visual details and complete-house QA are the next steps.
Save, quit & reload
Save/reload checks and original-world loading have progressed. The default save folder is now separate from The Sims 3.
